ODP Provider / Agency With Choice

It is about being a member of the community, having a valued role, making a contribution to society, and having one’s rights as a citizen fully respected.

Participants and their families have three choices regarding how you want to manage your home and community based service.
The services are the same in every model – the difference is in the degree in which the participant has control and management of their own services.
The option which has been around the longest is the traditional agency model. In this model, the participant agrees to have the provider manage their services.
CareGivers America is a traditional agency provider. We respond to all emails and phone calls within 4 business hours.
CareGivers America is an Agency With Choice provider in 6 counties of Pennsylvania.
In the Agency With Choice (AWC) model, the participant chooses to self-direct their services, but utilizes an Agency WIth Choice provider to enhance their experience and assist with the regulatory, legal, payroll, insurance, and management responsibilities.
This is a great option for families who want more choice and control, but don’t want to be the legal ’employer of record.’ In this model, the participant and the AWC become joint employers of the workers.
The AWC is the ’employer of record’ for business, legal and insurance purposes. The AWC is there to support in any areas where the participant or their representative need help to direct their services.
The participant or family member becomes the ‘managing employer’ in this model, directing the way and means in which services are carried out.
