In late 2019 CareGivers America relocated our Berks County, PA Regional Office to the stunning and historic Berkshire Building at 501 Street, Suite 402, right in the heart of Downtown Reading! Although we loved our time in Wyomissing (the very hometown of this writer/CareGivers America’s Director of Business Development), the entire extended Berks County team couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be in the heart of it all. We now boast a huge and modern office suite, complete with separate rooms for Direct Care Worker/Home Health Aide training classes and orientations and a much earned large, private office space for our amazing Reading Care Coordinator Holli, also a proud Berks County native; the sweeping views of the city were also definitely a plus!
Our office is now just a few blocks from the headquarters of our long standing and trusted Disability Waiver Service Coordination partners, Abilities in Motion and Service Access Management Inc., on a very direct and easy public transportation route, and is more able to be forward facing and engaged with the community we serve. We are also beyond honored to share a building with the wonderful advocates of the nonprofit Centro Hispano Daniel Torres, Pennsylvania’s largest Hispanic Community Center. Throughout 2019 we partnered with and supported Centro Hispano on several community events, including an unforgettable fun day of live music, home cooked Latino food and lots of dancing, smiles and laughter (pictures of that special day below!).
Finding the ideal location for all 23 and growing of our Pennsylvania Home Health Care Offices is considered a critical piece of our mission to meet the needs of all twenty-three of those communities served, from the rolling hills of Pennsylvania Dutch Country to the hustle and bustle of Philadelphia to the mountains of the Lehigh Valley and Northeast Coal Regions of our beautiful Commonwealth.
Our new office is now open, decorated and filled with our dedicated, local team to help you navigate the many nuances of home health care for yourself, a family member, or friend, all the more critical in the wake of PA’s transition to the Community Health Choices (CHC) New Waiver program on 1/1/20, a program designed to better enable Pennsylvanians to remain in health and comfort in their own homes and their own communities. We are here to answer your questions and to introduce you to our three new CHC Managed Care Organization (MCO) partners, AmeriHealth Caritas, UPMC for You, and PA Health & Wellness.
We are also accepting applications for Direct Care Workers/Home Health Aides, so if you want to impact the lives of your fellow Pennsylvanians and truly make a difference, we are a Home Care Agency you can trust, grow with, and be supported by. As our President, Mia Haney, recently coined as our new agency motto — “Somebody Needs You.”
